Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Horizon scanning, idea development and validation. You will establish and lead horizon scanning and idea development processes. Generating and sharing content, running idea discovery, ideation and validation exercises.
Scoping, managing and delivering FCDOx experiments. You will build and manage a portfolio of projects to develop and test validated ideas. You will be involved throughout the project’s lifecycle and work closely with delivery teams, customer sponsors and end users as well as with expertise from across FCDO including Information & Digital Directorate (IDD) and the Centre for Data and Analysis (CfDA).
Running the FCDOx capability. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of FCDOx including managing projects, reporting to senior stakeholders, communications and engagement activity, managing budgets and building the team.
Establishing and maintaining key relationships to enable FCDOx’s success. You will build and maintain a rich network across the FCDO (UK and overseas), HMG, industry and academia as well as with key international partners. You will be responsible for ensuring FCDOx is able to take advantage of these relationships to help us develop and test ideas and ultimately “pull through” successful ideas into the FCDO mainstream operation.
Supporting delivery of the FCDO’s Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Strategy: You will also use your expertise and contacts in new and emerging technologies to support other aspects of the FCDO’s work and the delivery of the FCDO’s DDaT Strategy.

Person Specification:

You must be a British Citizen at the time of application and, if invited to interview, you will need to bring proof of identity (British Passport, Driving Licence etc.) with you.

This role requires you to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

For more information about this process, click here. Attaining DV will require you to have been resident in the UK for five of the last ten years. At least one year of this must have been a consecutive twelve-month period. Serving overseas with HM Forces, in some other official capacity as a representative of His Majesty’s Government, or having lived overseas as a result of your parents’ or partner’s Government employment counts as UK residency for the purposes of security clearances.
