Job Description:
The Head of Strategic People Insight will lead a team that drives the use of data and insight to make decisions and monitor performance in Government People Group and across the Government People Function. This is an excellent opportunity to embrace the multidisciplinary nature of our business unit and requires inspiring leadership with a commitment to customer delivery and stakeholder management.
Success in this role will come from combining the strengths of multidisciplinary teams whilst drawing on your own expertise and credibility. You will understand Government People Group’s priorities and strategies, set the direction for the use of data and insight, and collaborate across the function to support the delivery of key outcomes.

Responsibilities & Duties
The responsibilities and duties of the role are outlined below. Please note that with the formation of the new Government People Group, responsibilities may be subject to change to meet new strategic priorities.
Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver key people data and insight projects, utilising information held across GPG and the HR Function to its full potential, ensuring effective join up across programmes to ensure strategic decision making and value add wherever possible.
Use data and insight to drive forward the effective delivery of the key priorities of the Civil Service People Plan and Government People Function Strategy. This will include horizon scanning for key issues and working with subject matter experts to understand the implications of trends on the delivery of priorities. Use dashboards to monitor and improve the performance of the HR function.
Deliver the cross-government People Data and Analytics strategy, maintaining and enhancing strategic connections across the Civil Service, and building data and analysis capability and performance across the HR function.
Act as a trusted partner to manage tasks effectively, trouble-shooting to resolve issues and bring clarity and direction to complex situations. Provide strategic leadership for GPG on the management of data and insight commissions, working collaboratively to reduce duplication, prioritise the use of resources and improve efficiency.
Take the lead for GPG on the prioritisation of data and insight resources, taking into account the Government Chief People Officer’s priorities.
Ensure that the team maintains strong relationships with Ministers, Special Advisors and key teams in the department, across government and with local stakeholders.
