Job Description:
You will play a key role in educating and training personnel involved in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in Nuclear Materials Engineering
Person Specification:
Deliver lectures, tutorials and research project design up to RFQ Level 7 (Masters Level). Design, develop and assess courses in:
The metallurgy of materials used in the nuclear reactor plant
The principles, concepts and procedures in metallurgical mechanical testing and material characterisation
Computational modelling using industry-used tools
Nuclear, mechanical and chemical requirements of reactor materials and their constraints on plant operation
You will also:
Design, supervise and assess student projects
Undertake Course Manager duties
Maintain, develop and manage codes and software
Operate and manage specialist equipment
Attend working groups and represent the department at conferences and working groups
Ensure continued professional development in area of specialist knowledge
