Job Description:

You will play a key role in educating and training personnel involved in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in Nuclear Safety Methods.

Person Specification:

Deliver lectures, tutorials and research project design up to Level 7 (Masters Level). Design, develop and assess courses in:

The technical content of a modern safety case, majoring on the areas of hazard analysis Quantitative risk assessment, modelling techniques for probabilistic and deterministic safety justifications
Safety case development and methodologies
Nuclear regulation and nuclear security regulation for the DNP
Fault and Event Tree analysis, and engineering reliability and availability methods and tools
Probabilistic safety analysis, deterministic safety methods and substantiation
You need to be able to deliver in one of the following areas:

Nuclear Decommissioning
Nuclear Emergency Response
Radiological Protection
Criticality Safety
You will also:

Design, supervise and assess student projects
Undertake Course Manager duties
Maintain, develop and manage codes and software
Operate and manage specialist equipment
Attend working groups and represent the department at conferences and working groups
Ensure continued professional development in area of specialist knowledge
Qualifications
Masters Degree (Level 7) in STEM Subject.
